Criteria for promotion

Promotion to professor
Promotion to professor (dosent)
Promotion to associate professor (førsteamanuensis)
Promotion to associate professor (førstelektor)

Employees can apply for a transition between job categories at the same level (Regulations for the Act on Universities and University Colleges, § 3-15). In the event of a transition, the same requirements for competence and competence assessment apply as in case of promotion.

UiA's guidelines on the right to apply for promotion, and on assessment and decision-making process related to promotion, also apply to applications for transition between job categories.
