Research activities

Member of Multimedia and eLearning research group.

Participate in several projects with emphasis on human-centred design of interactive sytems, usability engineering, user experience design and technology enhanced learning in higher education.

Currently co-supervising the following PhD projects:

  1. Renée P. Schulz (2014– 2018).Listening to Teachers’Needs: Human-centred Design for Mobile Technology in Higher Education
  2. Godfrey Mayende (2014– 2018). Designing for Effective Online Learning Groups
  3. Ninni-Marie Høgstad (2014– 2018). Engineering students´ problem solving using SIm2Bil: Simulation & Visualization in Mathematics Education for Engineers
  4. Erik Yves Adalberon (2014– 2018). Video-based Assessment in Teacher Education.
  5. Derek Woodgate (2016 – 2018). The Augmented Learner: The pivotal role of multimedia enhanced learning as part of an integrated learning model designed to accelerate delivery of higher levels of learner creativity. (DPhilos).

Participated as a project leader/ coordinator of the following (selected) research projects:

  1. DELP: Distance Education Leapfrogging Project ( from 2013 to 2018; total budget: NOK 18 million; source of funding: NORAD)

    Bakgrunn

    Dr Isabwe (Maurice) is a researcher and educator in the field of Multimedia and Educational Technology at the Department of Information and Communication Technology. 

    His research focus is on Human-centred design of interactive systems and innovation in teaching and learning through digital media technology support.
