When should you apply for PES funding?

For applications where UiA is the coordinator, requests for PES funding must be submitted to the Division of Research and Innovation no later than six months before the external deadline, in accordance with UiAs Procedure for quality development and assurance of applications (Rutine for kvalitetsutvikling og -sikring av søknader).

Note: Applications submitted after this deadline will normally not be approved.

How to apply for PES

There have been changes to where and how you apply for PES funding in 2026–2027.

There are no additional PES funds available for 2026 and 2027. Funding for project support for Horizon Europe applications in 2026–27 will therefore be covered by PUS funds.

This means that:

  1. You must contact your EU adviser or Research Adviser, who will submit an application on your behalf (researchers may no longer submit applications themselves). It is required that the head of department or dean is informed of and has approved the application.
  2. Applications for PES funding must be submitted before the project application is submitted, and no later than six months before the external submission deadline of your project application. Applications submitted after this deadline will normally not be approved.
  3. Applications for PES funding must be submitted via the PUS application form, available through the link below.

Disbursement of funds

Once the application has been processed by the Division of Research and Innovation, funds will be allocated to the faculty. The faculty is responsible for ensuring correct accounting as soon as possible after the EU application deadline.
