Combined and split positions

To ensure practice-oriented research, education, and development, UiA shall increase the proportion of combined positions, also referred to as shared positions, between educational institutions and the workplace.

A closer connection between UiA and other businesses can provide a better understanding of societal needs, thereby contributing to new ideas and innovation in teaching and research.

The use of combined positions is an important tool for increasing the relevance of the workforce and is also supported by national strategic plans and parliamentary reports. This can be implemented in two ways: through hiring (often referred to as "buy-out") or by advertising a joint position.

Agreements for hiring in combined positions should not be confused with the purchase of consultancy services and/or the signing of hourly wage contracts.
