Priority order

Submission deadline
To deliver documents by the desired deadlines, we need three weeks' notice for the requested task. We accept assignments based on our capacity. This means that at least three weeks before sending us a document, you must provide us with a brief description of the document type (application, scientific article etc.), the page and word count, a description of the content (technical or non-technical) and the return date.
Important: Even with three weeks' notice, we may need to decline assignments during periods of high application volumes that need to be forwarded to the Research Council and EU. Please contact us as early as possible if you anticipate needing our services.
Large assignments: To assist as many people as possible, we are unable to accept larger assignments (over approximately 15 pages). If you need help finding reliable external providers online, feel free to contact us!
Translation
Due to capacity constraints, we cannot accept course and programme descriptions (formerly ECTS), but proofreading remains an option. Contact us if you have other questions regarding translation.
Content
In line with Norwegian tradition and practice in higher education, British English is the officially used English variant at UiA. There may be reasons to write in American English; if so, please inform us when sending documents.
What is not included in proofreading work:
- Comments on content or structure
- In-text citations
- Bibliography/reference lists
- Specific requirements from certain publications or clients etc.
Texts requiring specialised expertise
In certain cases, we may need to decline orders if we determine that we lack the necessary expertise to deliver a satisfactory translation or proofreading. We will inform you of this as soon as possible.
What do our services cost?
Nothing. We offer all our language services free of charge to UiA staff, subject to our capacity.
