Style of imagery
The style of imagery should reflect the values of the University of Agder and ensure that the institution has a distinctive and recognisable look. Emphasis should be placed on real, honest and informal images with a strong composition, where the subject is simple and the environment natural. All imagery must give a clear message. Non-traditional shots give the viewer the impression of dynamism and movement. Drama can be created by juxtaposing photos. Deep-etched images can be used to create contrast and movement in the layout. Photos should appear Scandinavian and bright in style, perhaps a little overexposed.
Dramatisation
The graphic layout facilitates storytelling and allows for dramaturgy. Stories are created by using images with an unexpected composition, letting the image continue from one page to the next, or by juxtaposing images. By playing on contrasts, from close to distant and from sharp to blurred, dynamics are created. Unexpected solutions will excite curiosity and create interest.
