Within four weeks: The follow-up plan

Within four weeks, your supervisor, in collaboration with you, must create a follow-up plan, unless it is clearly unnecessary. This also applies if you are partially sick-listed.

The follow-up plan must include:

  • An assessment of your work tasks and work ability.
  • Relevant adjustments or measures from the employer, possibly with support from NAV.
  • A plan for further follow-up.

The supervisor must send the follow-up plan to your doctor no later than four weeks after the start of your sick leave.

The plan is usually created in a meeting. The occupational health service, safety representative, or union representative may attend this meeting if necessary or if you request it.

Your duties as an employee:

Cooperate to find solutions that help you return to work as quickly as possible.

Be willing to do other suitable or adjusted work if it can help you return to work faster.

Participate in the creation and implementation of the follow-up plan.

It is important that you approve the follow-up plan when you receive notification from NAV.
