University Pedagogy

  • The research group in university pedagogy aims to investigate pedagogical issues in higher education and serves as an interdisciplinary forum for sharing, discussing, and developing research.

  • The group’s areas of interest include general questions about university pedagogy, subject-specific didactics, educational technology in higher education, and issues related to the management and organisation of pedagogical practices in universities. The research spans all faculties at the university, as well as its administrative activities.

  • The group’s work contributes to increased knowledge about teaching and learning in higher education, the professionalism of academic staff, research-based teaching in university pedagogy courses, and the enhancement of quality in higher education.

  • Research activities are carried out through joint projects and sub-projects at local, national, and international levels. Findings are disseminated through scientific publications, themed events and an annual UiA seminar, national and international conferences, as well as popular science channels.

  • All PhD programmes at UiA related to topics such as teaching, learning, organisation, and leadership in higher education are relevant to the group’s work. Read more about doctoral education.
