Background and experience
I am a Professor of Academic Development and have worked with academic development in Norwegian higher education since 2013, first at NTNU and currently at the University of Agder (UiA). My teaching and research interests focus on Universal Design for Learning and the associate professor - professor career pathway as an academic career track.
My research has addressed promotion to associate professor, and I contribute nationally through teaching and supervision of associate professor and professor candidates from a wide range of higher education institutions, through UiA’s national associate professor–professor programme. I have also served as academic lead for the teaching excellence (merit) scheme. In 2022, I was awarded the status of Teacher of Excellence at NTNU, and in 2024 I was promoted to Professor of Academic Development at UiA.
I hold a 50% appointment at the Department of Education, where I teach in the first year programme in education, and serve as a permanent member of the Department Council.
