- Why are you standing for election?
Throughout my education, I have experienced different academic environments as student and PhD candidate, allowing me to observe both the strengths and limitations of various systems. While change is often desired, not everyone has the opportunity to express their views themselves. I appreciate UiA’s openness to new ideas and improvement, as well as the Norwegian culture of dialogue. I now feel familiar enough with this system to contribute constructively to its continued development.
- What are the three most important issues you want to work on if you are elected to the university board?
1. Promoting a healthy working environment and work–life balance
2. Temporary academic staff are often deeply passionate about their work. While this dedication is a great strength, it can also lead us to go too far and affect not only the “employee” but also the individual. Supporting everyday working conditions and work–life balance is essential to maintaining motivation while limiting the risk for personal life.
3. Improving professional opportunities within and beyond academia:
Temporary academic staff enter UiA with diverse backgrounds, making it challenging to quickly navigate roles, procedures, and expectations. Balancing research, teaching, and future career planning can create significant stress.
Clearer guidance at the start of a position and stronger support for professional development would help staff make informed career decisions, while preserving the work quality in the current position. Encouraging collaboration within and beyond UiA would broaden perspectives, strengthen employability, and increase the value of the university experience.
4. Promoting social and environmental progress:
Positioned between multiple actors in university life, temporary academic staff can play an important role in addressing broader social and environmental challenges. Beyond our temporary status, many of us wish to contribute to UiA’s long-term development. I would therefore prioritize discussions and initiatives that integrate these concerns and lead to concrete impacts beyond strictly academic matters.
- What qualities or competencies do you have that should encourage your colleagues to vote for you?
I value dialogue and collaboration, which I see as essential when addressing complex challenges. My research draws on concepts from multiple disciplines, shaping a broad and integrative perspective in a more global context. My academic experiences in France, Norway, and Italy have further contributed to my understanding of different systems and cultures, which I consider an asset in representative roles.
A few facts about me:
My research project focus on breathing monitoring in endurance sport. During my spare time, I enjoy practicing sport, whatever the level, as long as there is good mood around.
