Background and experience
I have worked at the University of Agder since 2019, first as associate professor and then since 2025 as professor of religious studies. Earlier I taught religious education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) (2017-2018), and I wrote my Ph.D. at the MF Norwegian School of Theology (2012-2017).
Between 2019-2023 I was director of the masters programme in religion, philosophy and society, and 2023-2025 I was head of the research centre Udforsk. In 2023 I also led the Young Academy of Norway, and was chair of the Letten Prize.
Areas of responsibility
I teach and research history of religion and religious didactics. I am the faculty representative for the Norwegian Researchers Association, and editor for DIN - Tidsskrift for religion og kultur. I am also a member of Scholars at Risk UiA.
Teaching
I have taught broadly in the masters programme in religion, philosophy and society, and on religion and diversity in teacher education. At the moment I mostly teach in the pedagogics courses in teacher education.
Research
In history of religion I work on critical theory, material culture, religious practices and magic in late antiquity. In religious didactics I examine diversity and disciplinary development, nationally and internationally.
