Schools and Kindergartens
We offer free educational programs for schools and kindergartens.
Children and students have free admission to the museum. Children/students can explore the museum's exhibits accompanied by a responsible adult.
Schools and kindergartens can borrow the forest cabin for free during the museum's opening hours. The forest cabin must be booked in advance. Please contact the reception.
Educational programs and learning activities are based on "Kunnskapsløftet 2020" (Norwegian educational reform for Elementary school) and "Rammeplanen" (Guidelines for the kindergarten's values, content, and task).
Not all educational programs can be held in English.
All educational programs are described in Norwegian.
Please contact the Museum Educator and Coordinator, Ida Jøssang , for more information.
Teacher's Responsibility
The teacher is responsible for ensuring that children and students receive and follow instructions from the facilitator when visiting the museum. It is expected that kindergartens and school classes come with enough adults so that children and students who do not follow instructions can be removed from tours or activities. A teacher must always be present during the guided tour or activity. This is for safety purposes, fragile materials, and valuable scientific objects from the collections.
