Faglige interesser

Academic interests

My main interests lie within the use of numerical methods for modeling, design and optimization of dynamic mechatronic systems. I have teaching and supervision experience at B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. level since 2003. My activities have mainly been devoted to mechanical engineering and my teaching and supervision have included:

  • 2D and 3D statics and dynamics of rigid body systems, Newtonian and Lagrangian approach
  • 3D dynamics of flexible bodies
  • Machine elements
  • Design optimization
  • Modeling and simulation

Research activities

I am member of the Dynamics research group at UiA.

I participate or have participated in several research projects with emphasis on model based design of mechatronic products with industrial partners. Currently I am supervising or co-supervising the following Ph.D. students:

In addition I am involved in the DIGIWIN-project together with postdoc Magnus Berthelsen Kjelland. The project is about the use of digital hydraulics on whinch drives. See more about the project here.
