A. Inform the students
- Post the teaching plan and the announcement for the first lecture in Canvas.
First lecture:
- Inform the students about what they can expect to receive responses to from you and where you prefer to communicate (email, Canvas, Teams). You can also establish fixed times when you are available in your office.
- Inform about how students report deviations.
- In Fagpersonweb, you can perform study administrative routines and tasks.
- Tip: There is a semester start page for students with checklists and other relevant information. There is also a page for new international students at UiA
B. Follow up on student assistants
- Provide training and communicate what is expected of them. Feel free to schedule coordination meetings.
- Grant access to the course in Canvas.
- The academic administration at the institute can assist with contracts and any certificates for the student assistants.
C. Changes after start-up
- Inform the students via Canvas about sudden changes in the time and location of the lecture.
- If there is a need to change the time or location, please contact timeplan@uia.no.
- Minor changes can be made directly in the schedule by the individual lecturer.
D. Student evaluation of the course
- Allocate time for students to choose their representatives.
- Collect data and feedback for the evaluation and development of the course.
- Make the evaluation available in Canvas and inform the students when it is published.
E. Developing the course
- Evaluation of the course may result in suggestions for changes. You can make adjustments to a course as long as you stay within the course description.
- Contact the study programme manager if you have suggestions for anything that should be changed in the next delivery of the course, such as required literature or changes to the assessment format.
F. Security and suitability assessment
- HSE Course: In some courses, students must pass an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) course before they can access laboratories. The HSE responsible at the unit is responsible for this.
- Procedures for accidents/near misses involving students
- All course instructors and/or lab instructors must assess the students' suitability continuously in both the theoretical and practical parts of the programme.
