Acts and regulations
The Civil Service Act (in Norwegian)
Inclusive personell policies (in Norwegian)
Vacant positions shall be advertised publicly and appointments shall occur in accordance with the legislation on general competition as set out in the Civil Service Act, section 4 (only in Norwegian).
At UiA, all vacancies are advertised through the online job application system Jobbnorge.
As manager, you shall prepare the text of the job advertisement and send it via Public 360 to the Division of Human Resources, who will take the matter up with the Academic Appointments Committee or the Non-academic Appointments Committee.
The choice of channels and the way you craft the job posting are crucial for attracting relevant applicants. The job posting is where you define the job requirements and communicate to applicants what kind of organisation you are.
Contents of the job advertisement
The text of the job advertisement must contain a description of the position, information on the job title and working area, requirements to qualifications, salary, workplace (at present) and from which date the position is vacant. It should also contain an application deadline of at least two weeks.
The text of the job advertisement must also mention whether the employment is full-time or part-time and whether it is a permanent or a temporary position.
Furthermore, the text must inform on whom applicants can refer to for more information about the position. Preferably, there should be both a female and a male contact person.
