UiA has four AI coordinators with responsibility for different areas, who together form an interdisciplinary team working to use artificial intelligence in a responsible and innovative way:
Education
- Maj Schian Nielsen (Kristiansand): Responsible for the didactic integration of AI in teaching
- Karl Audun Kagnes Borgersen (Grimstad): Responsible for the technical aspects of using AI in education
Research
- Bjørn Handeland: Assists researchers with the selection and use of AI tools, methodological and ethical issues, and the development of research projects
Administration
- Jon Ditlef Monstad: Works on how AI can streamline administrative processes such as case handling, document workflows, and analysis
Collaboration and support
Do you have project ideas or would you like to collaborate on AI in teaching, research, or administration?
Get in touch - we are happy to connect you with relevant academic environments and support further development.
We are also available to answer questions about how artificial intelligence works and how it should be used in official contexts, particularly with regard to privacy and legal considerations.
Training
The AI coordinators offer training for staff who want to understand and use artificial intelligence in teaching and academic work.
We assist with the development of teaching plans, courses, and introductions to relevant AI tools with an emphasis on both pedagogical and technical understanding.
The training is based on UiA’s ambitions and guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence and is tailored to the needs of different academic environments.
You can read more about our training offers and book a session here.
