Template for grading guidelines
Grading guidelines must be available for the evaluation of all exams at UiA, cf. Regulations on study programmes and exams at UiA § 37.6. (Forskrift om studieprogram og eksamen ved UiA § 37.6.)
- Grading guidelines must contribute to ensure that the institution meets its obligation to impartially assess student achievements as well as to assure academic standards. In addition, it is important to prepare good guidelines for external examiners considering those who have not themselves taught the subjects, as well as to ensure consistent assessment in the case of complaints.
- Grading guidelines should as a rule be prepared in conjunction with the exam paper.
- The course leader must make sure grading guidelines are prepared. The guidelines must be prepared by either an internal and external examiner or by two internal examiners.
