From acceptance to international degree student

  • The faculties receive a list of applicants who have accepted an offer of a place on a study programme.
  • It is recommended that the faculties establish initial contact with applicants during this period. They are encouraged to provide information such as a contact person at the department/faculty, details about the department/faculty, Facebook groups, student contacts, etc.
  • It is also recommended that the faculties prepare reception and onboarding for the student group, and that students are informed about this in advance.
  • The faculties receive a list from the International Office of applicants from outside the EU/EEA who have paid the deposit after the payment deadline (Applicants from outside the EU/EEA must have sufficient funds to live on. This currently means at least NOK 121,220 per year. This amount is paid into a deposit account at UiA).

Reception of students at the start of the semester

  • Orientation Day (usually the Friday before the start of the semester) is the international students’ first official encounter with UiA. The International Office is responsible for this day, but a meeting is also arranged between the students and the faculties.
