Private use of the staff canteens

The staff canteens can be booked for use after 16:00 on weekdays and during weekends. This is a free welfare benefit for all employees.

Responsibilities for borrowing the staff canteen

When borrowing the canteen, the borrower is responsible for the following:

  • Must familiarise themselves with UiA's fire instructions and inform participants at the event about them.
  • Must be present during the event.
  • Private events are not allowed without prior agreement.
  • Ensure that the premises are returned in the same condition as when they were borrowed.
  • Attend the following workday between 09:00 and 10:30 for inspection.

Non-compliance with the guidelines will result in additional work for the canteen staff. This will incur a charge of up to NOK 3,000 for the borrower. If equipment is damaged, the borrower may be held liable for compensation.

  • Employees will have the amount deducted from their salary via the accounting office.
  • Pensioners will receive an invoice.
  • Units and faculties will be internally invoiced.

Checklist for returning the canteen:

  • Tables must be wiped clean.
  • Tables and chairs must be arranged as they were before the loan. Note: Furniture must be lifted, not dragged.
  • All dishes must be washed, put away, and properly stored.
  • All waste must be removed, and new bin liners placed in bins.
