Adjusting work plans for sickness, holiday and leave

Sickness absence

For sickness absences lasting up to two weeks, work plans remain unchanged.

If an employee is absent due to sickness for more than two weeks, work plans are adjusted starting from the first day of sickness.

Employees who have been on sick leave for more than two weeks will not receive credits for productivity gains in their professional development account (KFU) until their work plan has been duly adjusted to account for the relevant period of sick leave.

Unused annual leave days

Work plans are adjusted to accommodate annual leave and any senior days.

  1. When an employee has been unable to take annual leave due to sickness, additional tasks assigned by the employer, or similar circumstances, the corresponding number of unused annual leave days will be accrued to the following year's work plan. The employer must approve the basis for transferring unused annual leave.

  2. When an employee applies for and is granted the transfer of up to two weeks of annual leave to the following year, at their own initiative, the work plan should not be adjusted. An employee cannot have the same annual leave deducted in two consecutive work plan years.

  3. Senior days that cannot be taken due to sickness, additional tasks assigned by the employer, or similar circumstances, will be paid out upon employer approval. In other cases, senior days will be considered taken through reducing the work plan.

Parental leave

Work plans should be adjusted to accommodate parental leave.

How to adjust work plans

Typically, work plans are adjusted based on the total number of hours in the work year. However in some cases, work plans may be adjusted directly based on specific tasks.

It is the responsibility of each faculty to establish their own procedures for processing work plan adjustments.
