You are only entitled to such holiday if the regular 5 weeks of holiday have not already been taken when working for another employer earlier in the holiday year. It is important to note that taking holidays is both a right and a duty. As a new employee, you can, with a few exceptions, refuse to take holidays if you have not accrued the full amount of holiday pay. Any holiday that you have accrued enough holiday pay for, however, must be taken.
New employees and holidays
If you started working at UiA no later than 30 September of the holiday year, you are entitled to the regular 5 holiday weeks. If you started working after this date, you are entitled to 6 working days of holiday.
