SEED funding
Faculty of Engineering and Science is offering seed funding for researchers and research groups to attract external funding for projects and increase research activity, like networking, publications etc. Seed funding is an internal support scheme aiming to stimulate research activity and development of research projects that can and should apply for external funding.
Who is eligible for support?
All researchers and research groups at the faculty. You have to finish reporting of the previous seed funding project before you can apply for a new one.
What can the seed funding cover?
- Travel for networking, partnership and consortia development, brokerage events
- Consultant services (proof reading, proposal writing)
- Payroll compensation to reduce teaching load (if possible)
- Networking, internationalisation, industry-academia collaboration
How much can I apply for?
- Max NOK 20000 for activities targeting at an external funding call from Norway
- Max NOK 50000 for activities targeting at an external funding call from EU
What must the application contain?
There is no application form. The application may be sent in the form of an e-mail. The application must contain information about the following:
- Which activity, call or program is the application preparing for, and when the external deadline is.
- Who is contributing to the project and the application. Affiliation with research group(s).
- Scale of the project (duration and planned amount to be applied for).
- What the funding will be used for (activities and estimated sums).
- One-page (if specific calls have already been identified).
The deadline for seed funding is four weeks before the external deadline.
