Academic approval

• The academic approval of your exchange is handled by your faculty or the Department of Teacher Education. Final approval is based on the pre-approval and the transcript of records from the exchange institution.
• Placements / Practical Training: For students who have undertaken a placement / practical training abroad, an evaluation or confirmation of completed practice replaces the transcript of records.
• Transcript of Records:
  • If the foreign institution sends your transcript by post to your home address, it is your responsibility to submit a copy to your faculty at UiA.
  • If it is sent to you by e-mail, you must either provide a certified copy of it or share a link with your case officer at UiA to access it electronically. Remember to check with your exchange institution whether you need to order the transcript yourself or if it will be sent automatically.
  • If the transcript is sent directly to the International Office at UiA, we will send a copy to your faculty and forward the original to you.
• The credits from your exchange will be automatically reported to Lånekassen. The credits obtained abroad will appear in your diploma as 'Exchange abroad (name of institution)' and the number of credits that have been approved. You must attach the transcript of records from the foreign institution to your diploma should this be required for further studies or employment.
