Information for schools about SKOLELIV

Schools are important partners in SKOLELIV. The project is designed so that participation requires as little extra work as possible from teachers and school leaders.

skolebarn og læreren

Parents and guardians respond on behalf of their child through a digital questionnaire. Pupils do not answer questions themselves or take part in surveys during school hours.

At a glance

  • Parents and guardians receive information about the project through parent meetings, a brochure and the school’s digital channels
  • The school sends a link to the questionnaire and one reminder
  • Parents and guardians complete the survey on behalf of their child
  • Participation requires little extra work from teachers and school leaders

Why take part?

By taking part in SKOLELIV, the school contributes to new knowledge about children’s school lives, journeys to school, local environments, well-being and quality of life.

This knowledge can support work on the school environment, local environment, traffic safety, public health and collaboration between schools and municipalities.

What does participation involve for the school?

The school’s contribution will mainly involve:

  • Distributing information about the project to parents and guardians
  • Sending the survey link through the school’s communication channels
  • Publishing brief information and a link on the school’s website
  • Making it possible for the researchers to provide information at parent meetings
  • Providing necessary information according to an agreed and secure procedure

The practical arrangements are planned in collaboration with the school.

How is privacy protected?

Parents and guardians log in via ID-porten and provide digital consent to participate.

The school does not receive information about who has consented. Only information about children for whom consent has been given is registered in the project.

The home address is used for geographical analyses of the journey to school and the local environment. The address is not included in the dataset used for the statistical analyses.

Results are presented at group level so that individual children, parents, guardians and families cannot be identified.
