Background and experience
I am currently working on a PhD on game-based learning in Norwegian and Sámi schools. I hold a master's degree in Nordic language and literature, as well as a master's degree in Arabic. Additionally, I have studied Sámi culture and society, comics and graphic novels, children's and youth literature, school library knowledge, and film studies.
Areas of responsibility
I am an assistant professor in Norwegian literature didactics and a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Education at the University of Lapland. I primarily teach about literature, games, and films in teacher education programs, as well as didactics, reading, writing, and digital competence in schools (Dekomp, decentralized competence development).
Teaching
I teach several subjects in primary school teacher education programs, including literature and narratives in other media, as well as Sámi themes in Norwegian and other subjects, including pedagogy in teacher education programs. Additionally, I teach school library knowledge, Dekomp, and the didactic use of games. In 2023, I won the Education Award at UiA together with Tom Flaten for work on strengthening Sámi and other minority language perspectives in the teacher education programmes.
Research
In my PhD, I write about the use of Minecraft to teach Sámi themes in Norwegian and Sámi schools. Additionally, I research multimodal narratives such as games, comics, and films, children's and youth literature, as well as school-oriented research in Norwegian and Sámi schools.
