Background and experience

My background is from film studies, and I have worked fifteen years as leader of The Cultural Schoolbag in Østfold and Viken county, a nationwide programme to ensure that all school pupils in Norway experience professional arts and culture. I am part of the reference board in the research project pARTiciPED and a board member of Fredrikstad Animation Festival.

Research

The working title of my PhD project is: Witness Positions and Memory Practices. A Study of Documentary Film about the July 22 Terror Attack and its Dissemination through The Cultural Schoolbag in Norway. The PhD is part of the international and interdisciplinary project Making Memories - Contemporary Aesthetic Articulations of Norway in the Second World War.

My research is centred on aesthetics and ethics in documentary film. I am also interested in how film can be used within education.
