Læringsutbytte
On successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- describe the pin-hole camera model and calibrate a camera to determine the camera matrix that describes the mapping from 2D image to the 3D world
- use image processing techniques to filter the image and detect objects in the image
- use sensors such as lidar and radar to make 2D or 3D scans of objects and environments and perform point-cloud processing such as pose estimation
- configure, train and use artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for use in vision applications
- select suitable hardware platform for a given AI task, and deploy a pre-trained neural network to the selected platform
Innhold
Modeling the camera with the pinhole camera model, calibrate camera and get the camera matrix and distortion parameters, image filtering, image segmentation, blob detection in images, transformation between different color spaces, detect and localize landmarks, principles of different sensors for measuring depth, Fourier transformations, convolution, point cloud processing, 3D vision, architecture of an artificial neural network and convolutional neural network, configuring and training artificial neural networks, deploying trained artificial neural networks on embedded hardware.
Undervisnings- og læringsformer
Lectures, exercises, laboratory exercises, including project work.
Estimated workload for the average student is approximately 200 hours.
Vilkår for å gå opp til eksamen
Compulsory assignments must be approved in order to take the examination. Information will be given in Canvas when the semester begins.
Eksamen
3-hour individual written examination (60 % of the final assessment) and practical project work (40 % of the final assessment). Graded assessment.
Studentevaluering
Course evaluation is carried out as a midterm evaluation in accordance with standard procedure in the quality assurance system, chapter 2.1.1., unless other information is given in the beginning of the semester.
