Delivered Impact on Industry Production
✅Privacy-First Innovation: Developed low-latency, edge-deployable video anonymization and multi-modal XAI for CCTV crowd monitoring in the AI4Citizens project, ensuring GDPR and EU AI-Act compliance for public safety monitoring. Achieved privacy protection of 99.3% (improved by 66--95% over SOTA baseline methods), with a trade-off in monitoring under 3%.
✅Scalability: Architected the DESMOD (DEtector System MOnitoring and Diagnostics) system at Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in CERN to monitor 30,000+ sensors, ensuring the integrity of the CMS Experiment’s infrastructure. Computation efficiency in causal graph discovery improved by 55--99%.
✅Operational Efficiency: Reduced 100,000 daily system alarms for Telecom Italia to just a few hundred critical tickets, a 95% reduction in operator load.
✅Cost-Effective Architecture: Delivered a 20x reduction in model complexity for industrial monitoring while maintaining high predictive accuracy.
✅Non-Intrusive Modeling: solved some of the most challenging non-intrusive (sensor-network-less) load disaggregation and real-time recommender algorithms in the domain for residential and substation power systems.
