Grape

Grape: Vitis vinifera.

vindrue

Grapes can be eaten fresh, pressed for juice, or dried into raisins.

There are many different grape varieties. Many cultivars can survive the Norwegian winter; one common variety is ‘Zilga’, with hardiness zone H6.

Still, grapes are often grown in greenhouses in Norway because most varieties need a long, warm summer to produce sweet, fully ripe berries.

Grapes are native to West Asia but have been cultivated and spread by people for thousands of years.
