Note: UiA PULS no longer offers physical SPSS courses but is working together with the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences to create a video-based course. This will be ready during the 2024/25 academic year.
The course covers
- Bli kjent med SPSS, programmets oppbygging og menyer (data-, output-, syntax-filer)
- Plotting av data i SPSS, overføring fra andre programmer (excel, SurveyXact)
- Finne deskriptive data i SPSS
- Enkle hypotesetester (uavhengige og avhengige grupper, to grupper vs. tre eller flere)
- Enkel bivariat korrelasjon og lineær regresjon
Forkunnskaper ikke påkrevd, men det er en fordel dersom en har noe grunnleggende kjennskap til statistiske begreper.
- Get to know SPSS, the programme's structure and menus (data, output, syntax files)
- Plotting data in SPSS, transferring from other programs (Excel, SurveyXact)
- Finding descriptive data in SPSS
- Simple hypothesis tests (independent and dependent groups, two groups vs. three or more)
- Simple bivariate correlation and linear regression
Previous knowledge is not required, but it is an advantage to have some basic understanding of statistical concepts.
