Pricing

The price per month depends on the type of bike you select but varies from NOK 649 to NOK 1299 per month. More information can be found in the booking portal during the campaign period.

Criteria for leasing

  • You must be a permanent employee or research fellow at UiA, working more than 20%.
  • You must have an intention to be employed for at least 36 months from the first net salary deduction.
  • When entering into an agreement, you cannot be on sick leave or unpaid leave, or plan to be on unpaid leave.

Practical information:

The bike will be delivered to your home address

The bike will be delivered to your home within two weeks after the ordering period ends.

If you are not home at the time of delivery, you are responsible for arranging a new delivery.

Assembly

The bike will be delivered fully assembled. It will have been tested and adjusted beforehand. Due to transport precautions, the pedals will not be attached, and the handlebars will be turned to the side. You will need to attach and tighten these yourself. Learn how to install the pedals.

Theft and insurance

You are fully responsible for the bike during the contract period. You must ensure that your bike is covered by insurance. Bicycles are often covered by home or contents insurance, but make sure you check what applies to you. We recommend that you check whether your insurance company requires you to use an insurance approved lock (FG).

If you are unfortunate and the bike is stolen, we recommend the following:

  • Report the theft to the police (the form is in Norwegian).
  • Contact your insurance company. Enter the crime reference number, account number and any other necessary information (such as the type of lock used).

As with all insurance claims, expect a deductible and/or reduction in coverage (for example, if you do not have an FG-certified lock). Check the terms of your insurance policy.

Service, warranty and support

The agreement includes first service, full warranty, and support.

Service includes adjustments/lubrication of gears and brakes, lubrication of the chain and drivetrain, tightening/adjustment of pedals and saddle, refilling tire air and possible software upgrades.

Service must be completed within the first 12 months of the contract period at one of our service partners. It is recommended to complete the first service after 300–400 kilometers.

Interested in buying the bike after three years?

After three years, you have the option to purchase the leased electric bike. The price will depend on the market value at that time (approximately 5% of the list price).

You will receive a proposal from the bike supplier, where you must choose between purchasing or returning the bike.

If you leave UiA

If you resign, retire or otherwise cease to receive income from the University of Agder during the contract period, you are obligated to pay the outstanding lease amount for the electric bike for the remaining lease period. This amount will be deducted from your final salary, holiday pay, and could also be supplemented with an additional invoice from UiA, if necessary.
