AKAN helps Norwegian businesses to prevent and handle issues related to alcohol, drugs, gaming and gambling. More about AKAN on their website
The AKAN committee at UiA consists of AKAN contacts, the occupational health service, the senior safety representative and staff from the Division of Human Resources.
The Working Environment Committee appoints an AKAN contact for each campus. The AKAN contacts receive training on gambling and substance use issues and provide advice to managers and staff on relevant matters. They also assist managers and staff in developing individual AKAN contracts. The AKAN contact guides the person contact (see section f) in collaboration with the occupational health service. The Division of Human Resources can also assist in this process.
