UiA has extensive facilities and hosts thousands of students, staff and visitors during both day and evening hours. As such, UiA is classified as a high-priority fire safety object. Annual fire drills are conducted, and any deviations or misunderstandings must be reported through the Speak up system.

Fire instructions

All employees, students and visitors at UiA are required to be familiar with and comply with UiA's fire safety instructions.

Fire safety goals

The primary goal of fire safety at UiA is to prevent fires or fire outbreaks through proactive measures.

Organisation

UiA's fire safety structure includes area managers and assembly point leaders for each fire zone.

Area manager: Assists with evacuation and ensures that specific areas are cleared, then reports to the assembly point leader.

Assembly point leader: Meets the fire department and communicates critical information about their designated area.

Escape routes

Escape routes must remain unobstructed and free of any items that could hinder safe evacuation.

Portable electric or oil heaters

The use of portable electric or oil heaters is prohibited in offices or common areas.
