General description and profile of the programme
Based on their experiences, knowledge and skills in sport, students will be equipped to work as instructors/coaches by planning, organising, implementing, supervising and assessing all-round physical activity in sports work, as well as acquiring knowledge of the significance of sporting activities and environments for the individual's skill development.
A central theme is to create the conditions for leading sports work in voluntary sports. This is done by presenting a selection of activities where the development of appropriate movement solutions in relation to movement tasks is central. Emphasis will also be placed on the social significance of sport and an understanding of how skill development and learning take place in different sporting contexts. Psychological and physiological aspects related to skill development in sport individually and at group level are also key topics.
Teaching and learning methods
The programme aims to create a learning environment that develops students' ability to reflect on and critically evaluate their own working methods in the face of theoretical and practical knowledge. Various forms of teaching and learning are used, such as lectures, group work with supervision, seminars, instruction, project work, student presentations, individual work, practical sports activities and excursions.
All practical teaching and active participation in off-campus courses (coastal course, cross-country skiing course, course in alpine skiing and snowboarding, and winter outdoor life) are compulsory. Other compulsory teaching will be stated in the course descriptions. All compulsory teaching will be specified in Canvas.
