What will you learn?
You will learn the fundamental features of the German language and pronunciation (phonetics), as well as key characteristics of the literature, culture, society, and history of the German-speaking world.
Teaching methods
Teaching language: German
Teaching alternates between lectures and student-centred activities, with a particular emphasis on group work.
The course focuses especially on developing oral and written language skills.
During the spring semester, students on the one-year programme in German are offered the opportunity to participate in a two-week intensive language course at the German–Norwegian Study Centre at Kiel University, provided that a sufficient number of students enrol.
Learning environment
During the first semester, you will be offered the opportunity to participate in the mentor programme God start, which aims to promote student well-being and a positive learning environment. You will be placed in a group with fellow students and receive guidance and inspiration from an experienced student mentor.
Kristiansand is known as an excellent student city, offering a wide range of cultural events and leisure activities. The campus is well suited for individual study, group work, and social activities, and the student centre Bare is located in the city centre.
