UiA Run 2026: Walk or run in support of the TV charity campaign

On the 8th of October, the annual UiA Run will once again take place at the UiA Campus Kristiansand. This year, as last year, the proceeds will go to the TV charity campaign.

The UiA Run has become an annual tradition at UiA campus Kristiansand. It is led by UiA students, and it is also a part of the annual Terrengkarusellen in Kristiansand.

UiA race leader Jon Einar Skjørdal is looking forward to this year’s race, and he hopes for a good turnout.

“I’m really looking forward to this year’s race! I think it’s going to be a brilliant event, so I hope as many people as possible will want to take part,” says Skjørdal.

This year, as last year, the proceeds from the UiA Run will go to the TV charity campaign. This year’s campaign has been allocated to NRC Norwegian Refugee Council, which helps people fleeing conflict around the world.

Last year the UiA Run raised 115.000kr for the TV charity campaign, and this year Skjørdal hopes they can contribute even more.

“We raised a great amount last year, but we are always trying to do better. It would be great if we managed to raise even more this year,” says Skjørdal.

Sticking to the same route

This year’s route is the same as last year’s and is around 4 kilometres long. You’ll enjoy a lovely run in and around UiA, and both the start and finish are on the large lawn at UiA Campus Kristiansand.

“We want the UiA Run to represent achievement and enjoyment. That’s why we’ve designed the route so that everyone can complete it. You can choose for yourself whether you want to run or walk, and whether you want to run with or without timing,” says Skjørdal.

Here’s how it works:

- Entry costs 250kr. Sign up via Terrengkarusellen.

- Season ticket holders via Terrengkarusellen pay nothing extra, but they are of course welcome to make a donation of any amount if they wish.

- The course is open from 13:00 on 7 October, but the main event takes place on 8 October. The course will also be open from 13:00 on that day, but there will also be a mass start for the long course at 17:00 and the short course at 17:30.

- All proceeds from the UiA Run will go to the TV charity campaign, which this year is raising funds for NRC Norwegian Refugee Council.

Important for UiA and the local community

Skjørdal is very pleased with the support from the race partners. He thinks an event like this is important for UiA and the local community. He says the race has become an important partner of the TV charity campaign in the region.

“We have a lot of important partners. Terrengkarusellen matters especially much to us because they handle much of the technical and administrative side of the race,” says Skjørdal.
