Requirements

You must be enrolled on a study programme at UiA and have completed a minimum of 60 credits before you go on exchange. In the description of your study programme you will find more information about other possible requirements for applying for an exchange.

A minimum B1 level of Spanish is required to study at UNSAM. We recommend that students take a Spanish preparatory course before the semester starts. If eligible, you can apply for a grant from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund to cover the cost of the course, provided the requirements for shorter language courses are met. The language course does not have to be taken at UNSAM

Credits and courses

Most classes are taught in Spanish. You can find courses under the 'EnseƱanza' section of their website. To obtain 30 ECTS credits, you usually need to take 3 courses of 64 hours each. UNSAM also offers language courses, from Chinese to South American indigenous languages.

The academic year

  • August - December
  • March - July

Tuition fees and scholarships

No tuition fees but there may be a small semester fee.

Accommodation

UNSAM does not offer student housing. It is recommended to find accommodation in the center of Buenos Aires rather than near the campus. It might be a good idea to rent a room through Airbnb or similar platforms to start with, and then look for a more permanent place once you are in the city. This is a website that has been recommended by other students.
