About the partner institution
The university has played an important role in Colombia's history and politics and 28 of the country's presidents have been students here.
The main campus El Claustro, located in the middle of La Candelaria, the historic center of Bogota, is a living museum and is where the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Social Sciences are located.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship campus, where the School of Management belongs, is located a little north of the city centre in new and modern facilities with fantastic sports opportunities on campus.
Bogota is the capital of Colombia and is an exciting city with over 8 million people. The city is colorful and full of 'street art' and a walk up the Monserrate mountain is a must!
Requirements
You must be enrolled on a study programme at UiA and have completed a minimum of 60 credits before you go on exchange. In the description of your study programme you will find more information about other possible requirements for applying for an exchange.
If you want to take a course in Spanish, you must have at least B1 in Spanish in the Common European Framework of Reference for European Languages. The university offers an online test that takes 30 minutes, if you do not pass it, you will be encouraged to take an intensive course in Spanish before starting your studies.
Universidad del Rosario offers intensive courses in Spanish one month before the start of studies, this costs around 240 Euro, and it should be possible to get support for this from LÄnekassen if you are going to study in Spanish. The Spanish spoken in Colombia is clear and distinct, and it is an excellent place to learn Spanish.
Credits and courses
18 UR credits correspond to 30 credits. The university offers many courses in English in their School of Business and some in the School of Human Sciences, while the other study programs mostly have courses in Spanish.
Universidad Rosario also offers various 'packages' which they call International Certificates. These are well suited for students who are going on a broad semester and have some prior knowledge of Spanish as the 'packages' consist of a mixture of subjects in Spanish and English.
