About the partner institution
Didier Lockwood Music Center (CMDL) was founded in 2000 by Didier Lockwood and his staff consisting of Benoit Sourisse, André Charlier and Chantal Charlier. CMDL is located in Dammarie-Lès-lys (45 km from Paris) and has really become a national and international reference in Jazz and improvised music.
CMDL offers music lessons driven by a genuine desire to transfer and defend jazz and improvised music. This school is a friendly and family place. Every year, there are around sixty students. These are chosen for their artistic potential, their motivation and their ability to show progression. The classes consist of between 8 and 10 students. In addition to the theoretical and technical lessons in music, pedagogy is focused so that one can reveal the musical identity and creative potential of each musician.
