Accommodation
The "Lucille Clement" housing complex is very popular and here you will be accommodated in a room with an American student.
Additional information
The university offers an "airport pickup service" when you arrive, and you get the opportunity to stay with a host family for 1-3 days where they take extra good care of you, show you around, help you shop for what you need and help you with moving into the student housing. They also offer a "buddy" programme which means you get extra help from an ETSU student while you're there.
Insurance / Health in the USA:
All students who exchange to an American university must purchase American health insurance, as recommended by the individual university. This is in addition to other insurance policies the students may have from their home countries. The insurances usually cost around USD 500-800 per semester, but can also be more expensive.
You can apply for an exemption from paying ETSU's student insurance if you can prove that your Norwegian insurance covers what ETSU requires. You can get more information about this from the international office.
Some universities require that foreign students can document that they have taken certain vaccines, also against diseases that are not usually vaccinated against in Norway. If you have not been vaccinated, e.g. against chickenpox, you will be required to provide documentation of the disease you have undergone. This can be obtained via a blood test at the GP. Documentation of vaccinations or undergone illness must be available in English.
You must also expect to pay other "fees" to the university, such as entrance to the fitness centre, bus, among others.
