This is an flexible elective. Students will gain insight and practical knowledge through their work experience. There is an emphasis upon understanding the place of practical training holistically. Students also have the possibility to practice their professional skills in political science and management in an employment relationship.

Teaching and learning methods

In practice, the students will be given tasks that are relevant in relation to their professional competence and the needs of the practice business. There is a great deal of flexibility in terms of working hours, tasks and how you want to organise these. In addition, students must write an academic practice report (reflection note) which is recommended to be based on assignments or projects that the student works on during the semester.

The individual internship and the Department of Political Science and Management collaborate on the allocation of internships. Internship is offered as an elective spring semseter, and the the application deadline is normally November 15th the semester before. A tripartite agreement on practice is entered into between UiA, the business and the individual student.

If students wish to obtain individual internships themselves, this must be agreed upon with the department in advance. Internships shall be unpaid, supervised and quality assured by the department.

More information about routines and procedures will be provided during the course and via Canvas.
