Contents

The course includes instruction in songwriting and instruments the student uses in connection with this, interaction, studio work and projects. The course works to further develop the student's creative and technical skills in music and text work. Through work with an understanding of style, exploration of possibilities within one's own instruments and expressions and interaction with other musicians, the student's musical signature is developed.

In addition, work in the studio with the production of own material is central. In connection with the studio work, the student will receive instruction especially with a view to identifying and further developing his/her artistic and musical profile. Performer knowledge in the form of performance mastery, cooperation and instrument knowledge is integrated into the teaching.

Teaching and learning methods

The course includes teaching in songwriting, ensemble playing, studio work and projects. Each student is given individual instruction within their main field of study. The teaching can be organized in groups if appropriate. The interaction teaching takes place in fixed groups and in different projects. The interaction teaching is organized so that the student can choose different areas such as co-writing, studio band, live lab, ensemble or songwriting circle. Eligibility in the ensemble teaching may vary based on the number of students.

During the course, the student participates in interpretation, as well as various compulsory projects and/or seminars. Through interpretation/house concerts in larger and smaller groups, the students gain insight and experience in various forms of feedback and performance. Mastering performance and strengthening the student's dissemination and performing practices are central to the course.

A collaborative concert with the other students in the course is a creative and performing main project that includes design and implementation. Supervision in the various processes leading up to the concert is a central part of the course. The project's scope, target group and process will be presented at the start of the semester.
