Contents

The course includes teaching and work on instruments and in interaction. In the course, emphasis is placed on further developing creative, executive and technical skills, as well as further development of personal expression within one's main field of study.

Teaching and learning methods

Common to all the students is that individual instruction is given in their main field of study, and they participate in interpretation/house concerts, as well as various compulsory projects and/or seminars.

For the students in the programme Music Performance – Popular Music, the ensemble teaching takes place in bands and projects, with different forms of communication. Mastering performance and strengthening the student's dissemination and performing practices are central to the course.

For the students on the programme in electronic music, the interaction teaching is organised so that the student can choose different areas they want to work in. Live sound, live production, DJ hybrid, Live-Lab, co-writing, studio band, PUNKT ensemble are examples of options. Eligibility may vary based on student numbers. Here, too, performance mastery and strengthening the student's dissemination and performing practices will be key topics.

The students in both programmes will perform a concert during the autumn semester and work with instrument-related technology and recording music in the spring semester, which results in a portfolio submission as an exam. Through interpretation and house concerts in large and small groups, the students gain insight and experience in various forms of feedback and performance. This focus on interaction and insight is repeated in both programs, but with different approaches and opportunities.

Parts of the teaching are compulsory. These parts will be presented in Canvas at the start of the semester.

The expected workload is 27 hours per credit.
