Contents
Many people are familiar with regular computer games and competitions connected to them. Fewer people know that drones and other remotely operated vehicles are also part of the Esports realm.
This course will introduce students to drones and how they are used, both in an Esports context and as tools in different industries. Students will also be introduced to the legal aspects of drone operations, how to operate drones, and relevant software.
To increase deeper understanding of drones from a technical point of view the students shall also design, build, and tune quadcopters, including hardware assembly and flight controller configuration, and finally operate their own build drone.
Teaching and learning methods
The course is taught through a combination of lectures, a flipped classroom approach, discussions, lab work, and mandatory assignments. Students will also be presented with relevant case studies for discussion.
An overview of the mandatory assignments will be given on Canvas in the beginning of the semester.
