Learning outcomes
The project is based on knowledge from the subjects control system, Mechatronics and Statistics. The course will be a hands-on multidisciplinary project that will provide students with practical skills and knowledge in measurement, instrumentation and control techniques, actuation and data processing. The course will use Matlab Simulink and Arduino as a development platform. The course combines mechanics and electronics with the help of a control system that is realized using algorithms. The algorithms are run on a microcontroller programmed using Matlab / Simulink.
The following is reviewed:
- Closed loop temperature controls (Heating element and temperature sensor)
- Power measurement and power management (instrumentation amplifier and tension valves, power measurement)
- Open loop speed control and closed loop position control
- Servo RC
- 1D helicopter control
- 2D helicopter control
- Magnetic Levitation
