- be able to evaluate and calculate combustion processes
- be able to evaluate and calculate energy prices for different types of fuel
- be able to plan and dimensioning heat demand and units for heat supply
- have insight knowledge about which factors affect the buildings' energy consumption and related relevant regulations and standards (TEK and NS)
- be able to design and evaluate energy-efficient buildings
- be able to use the most common simulation tools to calculate and verify the energy consumption in buildings, and be able to assess the consequences of different choice of solutions
Contents
Introduction to heat supply based on different fuels for example electricity, oil, gas and biomass. In addition, solar thermal collectors, boiler and stoking technics, combustion with stoichiometry, spot heating, central heating and heat stations with associated piping and heat emitters are reviewed.
Calculation and simulation of buildings' heating and cooling demand. Regulations and standards (TEK and NS).
Planning and construction of energy-efficient dwellings and commercial buildings. Low energy-building and passive house. Passive energy solutions. Energy-efficient heating systems, appliances and lighting.
