Prerequisites

The admission requirements for the Executive MBA is a completed bachelor¿s degree or equivalent education consisting of at least 180 ECTS and a minimum of two years relevant work experience after the completion of the education.

Relevant work experience is herein work experience within management or work experience from other positions with independent responsibilities

Recommended previous knowledge

Good knowledge of the English language is recommended.

Learning outcomes

The student is to:
  • Have knowledge of different perspectives on change and innovation on organizations
  • Develop an understanding of how change and innovation can be managed
  • Have insight into ways of commercializing technology and knowledge in a globalized economy
  • The ability to apply knowledge on innovation and change in specific cases and operational situations

Contents

  • Leadership theories and their views on change
  • perspectives on organizational change
  • Models of change in situations of managed/planned transformation
  • Change processes and change strategies
  • Concepts of innovation; how to manage innovation processes, including research and development

Teaching and learning methods

Lectures and group work though three sessions within the semester, each of them consisting of two-day sessions. Net based teaching through Canvas. Completion of two essays between the sessions.

Examinations

One-week exam at home, written individually or in groups (no more than 3 people).

Student evaluation

The study programme manager, in consultation with the student representative, decides the method of evaluation and whether the courses will have a midterm- or end of term evaluation, see also the Quality System, section 4.1. Information about evaluation method for the course will be posted on Canvas.
