The course Human Resource Managment refers to all HRM activities concerning planning and initiatives to recruit, develop and lead employees who can produce results that help to achieve organizational goals. The course provides a systematic introduction to the theory underlying the recruitment, development and management of knowledge workers in modern organizations. We describe and discuss research-based knowledge and systematic testing of measures that describes and explains how to successfully create results through human resources. We go in depth on how skills development combined with career and leadership development can be key factors for success. We are particularly interested in how leaders can utilize evidence based knowledge about what motivates employees and affect their way of thinking and acting in organizations, and what one must take into account when adding up to reform and change in organizations.
