Project description
The project focuses on Ukraine’s European integration and how Norway can strengthen its competence and cooperation in this field. It targets current and future leaders and employees in the Norwegian public sector by developing new educational programmes at the University of Agder, including both degree-based courses and continuing and further education offerings.
The project is carried out in close cooperation with the Municipality of Kristiansand, which annually hosts Democracy Week, the Europe Conference, and KRS European Youth Forum. Through the project, a Ukrainian youth delegation is invited each year to engage in dialogue with Norwegian and European counterparts on topics such as democracy, the rule of law, and European integration. Their perspectives are also used as case material in the newly developed educational programmes.
Through a combination of:
- enhanced competence (via new educational offerings)
- cross-sector cooperation (between UiA and Kristiansand municipality)
- cross-border dialogue (through an annual Ukrainian youth delegation)
the project strengthens Norwegian understanding of Ukraine and European integration across a wide audience. At the same time, Norwegian experience and expertise are used to support Ukraine’s pathway toward EU membership.
In the long term, the project will help Norwegian actors better identify relevant areas for cooperation, shared interests, and future opportunities related to European collaboration with Ukraine.
