Participating municipalities contribute to a knowledge base that can be used in the planning and evaluation of schools, childhood and youth services, transport, local environments and public health.
At a glance
- The municipality helps establish contact with relevant schools
- Implementation is adapted to local conditions
- The scope of the municipality’s contribution is agreed with the project team
- The municipality receives relevant results at group level
- The municipality will be offered a presentation of the results in a meeting with the project team
What does the municipality receive in return?
The municipality receives summarised knowledge and relevant results at aggregate level. The results can be used to evaluate decisions on school structure or to support municipal planning and assessments related to children and young people’s living environment.
Participation can provide the municipality with:
- Knowledge about children’s journeys to school and travel habits
- Knowledge about well-being and quality of life in different school settings
- Insight into geographical differences between school areas
- Knowledge about opportunities and barriers for walking and cycling to school
- A better knowledge base for assessments related to school structure
Results can be communicated through written summaries, reports, presentations or meetings with the project team. The format and scope are agreed with each municipality.
All results are presented at group level. They cannot be used to identify individual children, parents, guardians or families.
What does participation involve?
The municipality’s contribution may include:
- Establishing contact with relevant schools
- Collaborating on implementation and local adaptation
- Taking part in some meetings with the project team
The scope of the municipality’s contribution is agreed in collaboration with the project team and adapted to the municipality’s capacity and needs.
